RE Curriculum

Pupils at New Holland CofE Methodist Primary School engage in three different types of R.E. lessons: Believing (Theology), Living (Social and Human Sciences) and Thinking (Philosophy).  We follow the North Lincolnshire Agreed Syllabus for RE and use the scheme 'Understanding Christianity' and resources from the Lincolnshire Agreed Syllabus to support the teaching and learning of Religious Education.

Please refer to our RE Policy for information regarding our RE curriculum or scroll down this page to see examples of how RE looks within our school community.

Bibles for Children

The 'Bibles for Children' organisation have kindly donated child-friendly illustrated bibles for all pupils in Years 1,2,3,4,5 and 6.  These bibles are for the children to use throughout their time at New Holland CofE Methodist Primary School and then may be taken home with them when they leave in Yr6. Mr Denovan, our bishop's visitor, kindly presented the bibles to our pupils in our daily collective worship today.

Knitted Bible Stories Exhibition

Today, Deacon Helen from the Methodist church arrived to show us the knitted bible story collection from the local exhibition. We have been focusing on learning stories from both the old and new testament and so the knitted characters helped the children to visualise some of the stories. They listened really well as Deacon Helen told each story from the collection.
