Collective Worship at New Holland

Our worship rota follows a varied programme of opportunities for all children and adults to engage with God, if they wish.

Monday is a whole school worship delivered by the senior leadership team on a rota. This is our first gathering of the week and a time to come together as a family.

Tuesday Worship is our visitor worship where we welcome visitors from many faiths and organisations to lead.

Wednesday is whole school worship where we engage with ISingPop - we love the songs we learn during these sessions!

Thursday is world religions worship. We explore a range of religions and beliefs and learn about important festivals around the world.

Friday is Picture News worship in classrooms where we engage with current affairs and link British Values to our worship.

Celebration worship takes place on the last Thursday of each half term.  Our families are invited in to school to share this celebration with us.

Our worship areas always reflect the colours and thoughts of the liturgical year.

Collective Worship Council

Our collective worship council are a group of children who take an active role in promoting a strong Christian ethos through planning, delivering and evaluating collective worship. They also work alongside the R.E. leader to support their peers in demonstrating our Christian values of humility, friendship, trust, thankfulness, hope, forgiveness, service, peace, courage, patience, respect and compassion.

New Holland C of E and Methodist Primary School: Our School Vision

Our welcoming church school is located in a community that values its past and looks forward with hope. We recognise the worth of each member of our school family and we challenge and support everyone to flourish academically and personally. We journey together to do all the good we can.

‘Looking forward with hope. Flourishing. Doing all the good we can.’

Our Vision is rooted in Biblical Theology and is both Anglican and Methodist. We have explained this below using colour coded references that link to our school Christian vision above.

We are all made in the image of God and therefore we are all valued and valuable – Anglican/Methodist (Genesis 1.26-27)

Our school and community has grown and developed over time. We value our past and look forward with hope.

We do not need to live in or accept the world as but have hope and faith in the power of transformation; we have the power through our faith to live in the world, not as it is but as God intended it to be - Anglican/Methodist, (Romans 12.2), Methodist (Transforming Lives 4.3)

We believe in the transformative power of faith/imagination. Faith and the power of imagining a ‘transformed’ world provides us with the foundations of hope – Anglican/Methodist, (Romans 12.2), Methodist (Transforming Lives 4.3)

We can be agents of positive change and drive change to create the world that we want it to be: the world that God intended it to be. ‘Doing all the good you can’ (Wesley) – Methodist – John Wesley

Half Termly Celebration Worship - Flourishing

It was lovely coming together as a school community to celebrate our flourishing children leaving up to our church school vision and values. We love welcoming parents/ carers into the school and bringing everybody together to celebrate personal and academic growth. Well done to all and continue doing 'All of the good you can'.

Bishop's Letter and our Bishop's Visitor

Our Bishop's Visitor came into school to share the Bishop's letter in our morning worship. It was lovely to come together and share in reflection.

EYFS: Nursery and Reception Easter Service

Today we recapped our learning about Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday and Good Friday. We then concluded the story of Easter with Christ’s resurrection and the angels visiting Mary at his tomb. The children made an Easter garden including Jesus, Mary and a soldier, the cross and tomb. They included spring flowers, chicks and eggs to signify Easter being a time of new life and rebirth.

We couldn’t be prouder of our children in worship today. They were confident, clear and provided the audience with an engaging performance. Standing in front of a crowd can be daunting but you all shone brightly and 'flourished' on that stage, well done!

Easter Service

Our school and the community came together for our Easter Service. This was led by children from KS1 and KS2 and was very well atttended by parents and carers. The children 'flourished' in their roles and demonstrated leadership skills and responsibility. We were extremely proud of all of them and the aprticipation of all and their beuatiful singing. The Easter story was well portrayed and helped us all to reflect together as a community.

Reception Children supported the service by learning and reading a poem. This was a big challenge for them and they were very brave in front of such a large audience.
